Program Cost (updated soon!)
The program fee is not set yet but it will likely be the same as it was for the 2010 program. The fee normally includes New York-Amman roundtrip airline tickets*, transportation to Irbid from Amman airport upon arrival and back to Amman upon departure**, tuition for 8 credits, texts and instructional material, transcript fees (if applicable), double-occupancy housing, and cultural excursions.
In addition, students are responsible for cost of such items as domestic roundtrip tickets to New York, passport fees, excess baggage fees, trip cancellation fees, insurance, ISIC card, visa, food, entry fees to attraction sites, personal gifts, and other incidentals.
Click here for an itemized cost estimate in pdf. You can print the itemized cost estimate sheet and bring it to your financial aid office. Students applying for FLAS scholarships should contact us for a more detailed itemized sheet. FLAS students will require a minimum total of 140 contact hours. We will ensure they finish the required number of contact hours. FLAS students will end up earning 9 semester credits instead.
*It is assumed that all students will travel as a group. However, if a student wishes to arrange for his or her travel in order to stay longer in the country or to visit neighboring states after the program is done, a waiver will be granted. The student will be allowed to deduct $1200 from the first payment to purchase his or her own NY-Amman round trip tickets.
**Airport pick and return assumes that the student is arriving and departing with the full group. If a student opts to do his or her travel arrangments and travel separately, the student will have to arrange for and bear the cost of transportation from and to the Amman airport.
